Position Description"

RSM has an immediate opening for a Technical Project Manager with deep interest and experience in facilitating and implementing successful software projects. This position is a client-facing role, which is responsible for overseeing software development projects from inception to completion. The project management oversight will enforce project timeline and budget adherence, resulting in increased client satisfaction, improved delivery and implementation practices and project profitability. The successful candidate must demonstrate willingness to go the extra mile for the team's success. He or she will be a problem solver, creative thinker, and fast learner, be detail-oriented and interested in learning RSM's consulting business.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead software development projects, ensuring they follow strict SDLC protocols and Agile methodologies.
  • Manage the delivery of all activities, work products and deliverables against plan to include budget, scope, schedule, risks, actions, issues, decisions (RAID logs), and changes.
  • Track actual hours worked and calculate estimates-to-complete to determine variances in plan. Manages variances through assignment adjustments, issue, risk and/or change control. Controls scope through formal change control procedures.
  • Approves team expenditures within assigned guidelines.
  • Review Statements of Work (SOW) for projects ensuring that each is realistic and clearly represented.
  • Translate SOW into a project plan.
  • Implement organizational project structures and governance models for communications and decision making. Manage project communications including status reporting and steering committees in defined weekly and monthly cycles per UPMF. Implement metrics and EVM to quantify status report updates.
  • Assists in monitoring and redefining project objectives to respond to changes in the business environment. Provides information to support proposed changes. Controls scope through formal change control procedures.
  • Include Organizational Change Management (OCM) as needed to enable change
  • Oversees and is responsible for the accuracy of client invoices and subcontractor invoice verification.
  • Understand your client's business, products, markets, competitors, industry drivers, and financials by doing research such as obtaining a "Digital Dossier" reports or similar from the National Data Team.
  • Directs and motivates project team members through the completion of the assigned deliverables.
  • Effectively and regularly communicate project expectations to RSM consultants and clients in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team and serve as an escalation point to team members, facilitating prompt and appropriate responses to project issues and risks.
  • Works with RSM engagement leadership and/or program manager as a key point of contact with the client and is responsible for communication inside and outside the project. Understands goals and requirements and manages expectations and dependencies.
  • Interacts with client management under the guidance/direction of the RSM engagement leader, project manager or program manager (if part of an integrated program), in discussions relating to the formal acceptance of deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology or related business field of study
  • 3-5 years direct work experience as a Project Manager in software development projects
  • Strong conceptual, analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be a team player and be able to effectively interact with staff at all levels of the firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in and demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies; Scrum Master certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps or similar Application Lifecycle Management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel
  • Prior consulting experience is preferred

Compensation Range: $78,600 - $148,500
