Job Description

Position Summary:
Position will assist the Clinical Excellence Department Director with professional nursing practice, nursing recognition and professional development, and Magnet document writing. Professional Practice includes education to new partnership chairs. Assists with all aspects of professional governance. Committee work will include nursing recognition, professional nurse advancement programing, as well as nursing annual reporting committees. Professional Development activities include coordination of back-to-school support, certification, and other development opportunities. Infusing the Carle Health System nursing with professionalism and Magnet values.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire and National Nursing Certification NPD preferred within 2 years.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Five (5) Years of Nursing Experience. Experience with Magnet Designation expectations. Strong understanding of Nursing Professional Standards.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Passion for Magnet, knowledge of professional governance. Strong understanding of nursing professional standards. Strong interprofessional skills. Strong writing skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in Magnet document preparations.
  • Educate across organization on Magnet.
  • Initiate and monitor professional governance across the organization.
  • Assist with nurse recognition programs.
  • Assist with Carle RNs returning to school.
  • Assist with nursing professional development related to advancement and professional certification.
  • Communication across internal departments to facilitate professionalism in nursing.
  • Professional Development and In-Service Training.
  • Generates quarterly reports to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinates communication with chairs and committeee leads for Professional Nurse Advancement Program chairs, Daisy Programing, and other recognition programing.
