Overview

JOB SPECIFICS:

  • OSF Saint St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking an Academic Family Medicine Faculty Physician to help establish a new residency training program and train the next generation of family physicians!
  • Affiliated with University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, successful candidates will be eligible for faculty appointment.
  • Assist with policies, procedures and program requirements set by the ACGME and OSF HealthCare.
  • Oversee educational experiences and rotations of the residency curriculum as delegated by the program director.
  • Provides effective leadership, role modeling, communication and coordination across the organization in support of graduate medical education, including developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clinical leadership and administration at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center and OSF Medical Group.
  • Teach and coordinate continuous development and evaluation of the graduate education curriculum while staying current on the latest developments in education to assure the most effective and progressive educational methods are used in the Family Medicine and GME programs.
  • Academic advising and mentoring of residents along with overseeing resident's scholarly projects and research.
  • Participate in program administration including but not limited to accreditation, recruitment, faculty meetings, professional development and grant activities.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state. Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies). Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges. Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs. Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage. Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served
