Description

This position is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients of the Center for Family Medicine and its satellite clinics. Duties will include a combination of patient care, research and teaching activities.

Examples of Duties

TEACHING (10%)
Actively precept as teaching physician in the resident outpatient clinics to include not only patient care aspects and procedural skills but also time management skills, doctor-patient relationship, professionalism, ethical and legal considerations, billing and coding and present at and attend resident core curriculum conferences.
SERVICE (85%)
A. Provide direct patient care to own panel of patients at the Taylorville site. B. Conduct procedure clinics as needed per patient demand. C. Participate in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement activities. D. Provide emergency services to patients as needed including those who are identified as having no primary care physician. E. Maintain active membership in Family Medicine and Teaching Societies. F. Serve on the Center-wide Committees, as assigned. G. Serve on school and department committees, as assigned. 2 H. Participate in community boards and outreach projects. I. Attend faculty meeting and residency didact sessions.
ADMINISTRATION (0%)
RESEARCH (5%)
A. Conduct research in areas of particular interest and publish in referred journals. B. Attendance/presentation at national professional meetings. C. Per RRC requirements, must complete a minimum of 2 scholarly activities every 5 years.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations. 2. Must possess an MD or DO degree 3. Must have graduated from an accredited residency training program at time of hire. 4. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine at time of hire 5. Licensed or Eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Willing to practice obstetrics.
