Section Editor's are responsible for the entire production and final product of their respective section.The paper comes out monthly.
- Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)
Essential Job Functions:
- Gather story ideas for every issue.
- Assign stories to writers/
- Write headlines for your stories
- Ensure all editorial content is based on verifiable facts
- Arrive prepared and on time for weekly meetings.
- Communicate with the Layout/Design Editor about your section.
- Specific Functional Job Requirements
Education Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements:Newsroom experience preferred. Good spoken English skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Willingness to learn.
Knowledge:knowledge of AP Style preferred.
Skills:Excellent written communication skills.
Personal Requirements:Ability to work as part of a team.
