Provide support services to a Correctional Center Educational Program.

Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Act as receptionist in College area and direct traffic as required.
  2. Answer direct assist incoming calls.
  3. Provide assistance in preparing classroom materials for instructors as required.
  4. Prepare memorandums and letters as required.
  5. Prepare Purchase Orders and requisitions as required.
  6. Prepare spreadsheets for expenditures and perform data entry for information pertaining to expenditures on Datatel software.
  7. Create and maintain fiscal related records and files.
  8. Prepare student files and perform data entry for information pertaining to admissions and registration on Datatel software.
  9. Create and maintain student records and files.
  10. Process and track student transcript requests
  11. Distribute and track all facility and college rosters.
  12. Prepare attendance forms for full and part-time academic students.
  13. Input attendance assignments and other information on DOC data system as required.
  14. Input information on DOC data system for Tuition Reimbursement Program as required.
  15. Create and maintain file system on all correspondence.
  16. Assist Associate Dean in completion of required reports in a timely manner.
  17. Be on site a minimum of 37.5 hours per week (30 minute lunch).
  18. Arrive at work site prior to beginning of established shift.
  19. Notify supervisor well in advanced of absence.
  20. Attend both college and facility staff meetings as required.
  21. Attend training as required.
  22. Observe support and enforce the regulations policies and programs of the College and inform the President in writing of any problem that might have a detrimental effect on the College.
  23. Conduct oneself in a professional manner.
  24. Abide by DOC and Lake Land College regulations at all times.
  25. Assist institutional personnel during emergency situations.
  26. Maintain equipment assigned area.
  27. Maintain control of keys per DOC requirements.
  28. Perform other duties as assigned.
Specific Functional Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Associate Degree Preferred

Experience Requirements:
Business/office related work and computer experience required.

Knowledge:
Business etiquette and general office procedures.

Skills:
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills; Microsoft Office XP and general office skills as determined through assessment; and word processing skills.

Personal Requirements:
Detail-oriented, self-starter who enjoys relating to a diverse population of students, staff and public in a fast-paced work environment with multiple interruptions. Works consistently to further the college's vision and values. Work collaboratively with immediate peers and other departmental areas to support student learning and development.
