Job Description

The Senior Director of Finance is responsible for the coordination of the daily operations of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department, physician comp, completion of special financial projects, analyses, and feasibility studies, providing guidance and supervision to all FP&A department staff and providing general assistance and back up support to the Chief Financial Officer.

Job Relationships

Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide professional financial leadership across a variety of departments regarding the overall long-term fiscal health and stability of Springfield Clinic.
  • Lead the annual budget and forecasting preparation in consultation with Finance & Accounting Leadership.
  • Facilitate departmental financial review.
  • Build, maintain, and manage Business Decision Support department for organization
  • Manage the liaison relationship between departments and accounting to investigate any financial questions/discrepancies.
  • Facilitate analytical projects at the direction of the CFO.
  • Oversee the financial records for each project/department that facilitates management reports.
  • Responsible for Physician Compensation Formula and semi-annual compensation review with Finance Committee.
  • Responsible for financial and statistical reporting.
  • Assist CFO with planning, documentation, and presentations for all Committees as well as all projects within related scope of responsibility.
  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years general accounting/finance experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience inhealthcare accounting/finance preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years supervisory experience required.
  • Microsoft Office experience required specifically with proficiency in Excel.

Working Environment

  • Operates in a professional office environment.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
